SkyWest has placed a firm order for sixteen E175s from Embraer committed for its Delta Air Lines regional contract, secured an additional 44 delivery positions, and 50 more purchase rights. The deliveries are expected to commence in 2027.

The 16 firm-ordered aircraft are set to replace eleven CRJ900s and five CRJ700s operated by SkyWest Airlines under the current contract with Delta.

The delivery positions cover potential deliveries from 2028 to 2032. "SkyWest intends to take delivery of the 44 additional E175s, subject to SkyWest entering into flying agreements with one of its major airline partners in respect of such aircraft," the airline said.

According to the ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module, SkyWest Airlines currently operates 574 aircraft. Its fleet comprises 263 E175s, 132 CRJ200s, twenty-six CRJ550s, 105 CRJ700s, and forty-eight CRJ900s. It owns most of its aircraft except for five aircraft sourced from third-party lessors, 18 owned by Delta and flying on its behalf, and 45 owned by United Airlines and flying on its behalf.

The company operates services on behalf of Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines under their respective regional brands.
