JSX Air (XE, Dallas Love Field) has signed a letter of intent with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional for the potential acquisition of fifteen ATR42-600s, and purchase rights for ten more aircraft, with deliveries due to begin in 2026. As reported by AeroTime, the carrier will also lease two ATRs to start operating the regional turboprop by the end of 2025.

The names of the lessor and aircraft type have not been disclosed.

JSX Air will outfit the ATR42s with just 30 premium seats in a 2-1 configuration. This will allow it to continue operating the aircraft under the existing FAA Part 135 certificate, which only covers aircraft up to 30 seats.

If the order is confirmed, JSX Air will become the sole operator of the type in the United States, ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data shows. Silver Airways operated the type before ceasing its operations on June 11, 2025.

According to the ch-aviation Commercial Aviation Aircraft Data module, JSX Air currently operates fifteen E135s and thirty-three E145s. The Embraer jets are also limited to 30 seats each.
