Gulfstream Aerospace (GLF, Savannah International) has announced that the final G650ER, test-registered N698GA (msn 6598), has completed production at Savannah International. The ultra-long-range jet will now move to Appleton Outgamie County Regional for completion before delivery to an undisclosed customer later in 2025.
The G650 program was announced in March 2008, with the first-ever flight conducted by N650GA (msn 6001) on November 25, 2009. The type received US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification on September 7, 2012, and the first delivery followed on December 20, 2012, to Preston Henne, a former Gulfstream executive.
Although G650 production has now officially ended, Gulfstream will continue to develop upgrades for the type.
"As with any Gulfstream aircraft completing production, our Customer Support and program management teams will continue to research, develop, and deploy advanced technologies and upgrades for retrofit," said Gulfstream President Mark Burns.
Gulfstream's G650 successor is the new G800, announced in October 2021 and with certification expected in the first half of 2025. The jet's first flight took place on June 29, 2022, around Savannah International, performed by N800G (msn 88001).
