Filipino senator Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa has called for the United States to impose sanctions on the unnamed owner of a G550 that was chartered for the extradition of former President Ricardo Duterte to the Netherlands last month under a warrant issued by the International Criminal Court.
"Maybe it’s the panel’s [on foreign relations] moral obligation to share our findings to [US] President Trump so that whoever the owner is of this Gulfstream aircraft, if he has assets in America, he will be covered by the executive order signed by Trump," dela Rosa said.
The senator, who was the head of the Filipino police under the Duterte administration and is himself under ICC investigation for alleged crimes against humanity perpetrated under the guise of a so-called war on drugs, argued that any cooperation with the ICC violated a February 2025 executive order issued by Trump that sanctioned the international tribunal.
RP-C5219 (msn 5219), a 16-year-old aircraft registered in the Philippines in April 2024, is operated privately and not placed on any air operator's certificate. The aircraft was last active on March 30, 2025, and is currently parked at Manila Ninoy Aquino International.
The G550 was used to fly Duterte after his arrest from Manila via Dubai World Central to Rotterdam on March 11-12, 2025.
