Air Saint-Pierre (PJ, Saint Pierre) took delivery of its first ATR42-600 on December 13, 2020. The brand new turboprop will replace the carrier's only ATR42-500.
F-ORLB (msn 1605) was ferried from Toulouse Blagnac via Glasgow International, Reykjavik Keflavik, and Goose Bay to Saint Pierre, a French overseas collectivity adjacent to Canada, over the course of December 12-13, Flightradar24 ADS-B data shows. It is due to enter revenue service on December 17.
The new aircraft will replace F-OFSP (msn 801), an 11.9-year-old ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprop which has been operated by Air Saint-Pierre since 2009. Before that, the carrier operated an ATR42-300, the ch-aviation fleets history module shows. The airline uses its sole turboprop to ply trunk routes between Saint Pierre and destinations in Canada (Montréal Trudeau, Halifax, and St. John's). It also operates a single Cessna (twin turboprop) 406 for domestic services to Miquelon. During the summer seasons, Air Saint-Pierre wet-leases a B737-700 from ASL Airlines France (5O, Paris CDG) for services to Paris CDG.
