Swiss (LX, Zurich) will deploy an A330-300 between Zurich and Geneva once a day between September 1 and September 24 for crew training purposes, the airline confirmed to ch-aviation.
"The main reason for this [A330 deployment] is crew training, to ensure all required pilots maintain their recency on the A330, meaning they meet the legally required number of recent take-offs and landings on this aircraft type," a spokesperson for the carrier told ch-aviation.
The airline added that the deployment of the A330-300 on a short-haul domestic service will not impact other routes typically operated by this aircraft type.
Swiss has also scheduled a one-off B777-300ER service between Zurich and Geneva for October 18, ch-aviation data shows.
Swiss currently operates fourteen A330-300s. During the 2025 summer season, the aircraft are operating from Zurich to Boston, Chicago O'Hare, Delhi International, Dubai International, Montréal Trudeau, Mumbai International, New York JFK, New York Newark, Tel Aviv Ben Gurion, Toronto Pearson, and Washington Dulles. The A330s are also operating on the Geneva-JFK route.
