The White House announced on July 30 that civil aircraft and aerospace products manufactured in Brazil, including Embraer aircraft, will be exempt from an additional 40% tariff on the country's exports to the United States.
"The news confirms the positive impact and strategic importance of Embraer’s activities for the Brazilian and US economies. With this measure, Embraer’s exports to the US remain with 10% import duties from the April 2 announcement," the manufacturer told ch-aviation.
According to ch-aviation data, Embraer has 234 orders from US customers, including aircraft operators and lessors. Major customers include American Airlines, SkyWest Airlines, and Republic Airways which have outstanding orders for ninety, seventy-four, and thirty-five E175s, respectively.
Embraer Executive Jets has a facility at Melbourne, FL, where it produces all Phenom-series and some Praetor-series business jets.
As previously reported, the US and the EU reached a framework agreement on a new trade deal that exempts aerospace products from tariffs.
