Breeze Airways (MX, Salt Lake City) will expand its operation on the US West Coast in 2026, launching flights mostly from Burbank, taking advantage of rival Avelo Airlines’ exit from this airport in California.
Starting in March 2026, Breeze plans to begin 3x weekly frequencies from Burbank to Arcata/Eureka and Provo and 2x weekly to Eugene, Pasco, and Redmond. It will also expand its operations at Provo in Utah, aiming to serve Arcata, Burbank, Eugene, Las Vegas Harry Reid, Pasco, and Redmond in March.
The announcement was made within days of Avelo Airlines saying it will withdraw from Burbank by year-end. The company faces economic losses in the region and boycott calls over its operation of deportation flights on behalf of the US government.
“We have long been monitoring opportunities to expand our network on the West Coast and hope the news will be a welcome reprieve for travellers in these communities,” said Breeze Airways’ chief commercial officer, Lukas Johnson.
