Breeze Airways (MX, Salt Lake City) has announced it will establish a new base at Akron Regional in the 2025 summer season, employing at least 61 pilots, cabin crew, and maintenance personnel there.

This base “will allow the airline to station aircraft at the airport overnight to further establish a foundation for future growth out of CAK,” the company said referring to Akron/Canton Regional Airport's IATA code.

The first aircraft will be based there in June, followed by another in the autumn and a third in 2026. The carrier's fleet currently comprises 49 aircraft, namely thirty-six A220-300s, ten E190s, and three E195s, per the ch-aviation fleets module.

The ch-aviation schedules module shows that Breeze Airways already serves Charleston International, Fort Myers Southwest Florida, Hartford Bradley, Las Vegas Harry Reid, Orlando International, Raleigh/Durham, Sarasota/Bradenton, and Tampa International from Akron Regional. It accounts for 25.7% of the frequencies at the airport, behind only American Airlines (35.1%), and 34.8% of the seat capacity (above Allegiant Air with 29.6% and American Airlines with 24.8%).

Breeze Airways currently has ten bases across the United States and plans to operate from over 20 bases as it grows its fleet, the company's chief commercial officer Lukas Johnson told ch-aviation last year.
