Airavat, a subsidiary of Dubai-based shipping outfit Transworld Group, and Fly Sirius (Delhi International), a joint venture between Transworld Group and Sirius India Airlines Pvt. Ltd., have rebranded as Transworld Jets.
The announcement was made in June 2 press release describing the rebrand as a move to align both companies with parent Transworld Group.
“With Dubai and New Delhi established as our two key hubs, we intend to strengthen our presence across the United Arab Emirates, the GCC [Gulf Cooperation Council], and Indian markets,” said Ramesh S Ramakrishnan, chairman of Transworld Group.
The rebrand follows a recent decision to place two of the three Hawker 4000s and a newly inducted Falcon 2000DX, all San Marino-registered, on the air operator's certificate (AOC) of SybaJet San Marino (BCP), as Airavat is not a certified operator in the United Arab Emirates. The Hawker 4000s were previously under the AOC of DC Aviation San Marino (DCU, Rimini), while a third Hawker 4000, registered in India, remains under the non-scheduled operator's permit (NSOP) of Fly Sirius.
Earlier this year, Indian media reported that Fly Sirius was in advanced discussions with Textron Aviation to acquire twenty Citation Longitude jets. In a statement to ch-aviation, the company confirmed it had been in discussions with Textron Aviation and other manufacturers but said it was not in a position to disclose further details at this stage.
