Federal Airlines (South Africa) (7V, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) has resumed services on 71% of its Safari Shuttle network with seven airfields still awaiting regulatory approval from the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA), a spokeswoman for the airline confirmed to ch-aviation.
Commonly known as FedAir, the airline had suspended flights to all unlicensed game lodge runways earlier this month, pending their owners' compliance with revised civil aviation requirements for all aerodromes and heliports involved in commercial air transport to be certified or licensed.
FedAir's Safari Shuttle transports tourists from Johannesburg O.R. Tambo and Mbombela to Skukuza in Kruger National Park, private game reserves in the Greater Kruger area, Madikwe Game Reserve in North West Province bordering Botswana, and Marakele National Park in Waterberg in Limpopo Province.
The spokeswoman confirmed that FedAir's fleet comprises ten Cessna (single turboprop) C208 Caravans (including seven C208B EX Grand Caravans), four PC-12s (including two PC12NGs),
one Beech 1900D, and two E145s.
