Comair Flight Services (GCM, Johannesburg Lanseria) has restructured its shareholding, with Parrot Aviation, the holding company of Federal Airlines (South Africa), acquiring a 50% stake previously held by Comair General Aviation Holdings. At the same time, co-founder and chief executive Justin Reeves has acquired the remaining shares from other minority holders. Following Comair's exit, the company has rebranded as CFS Aviation Group.
"The new structure reinforces our long-term vision, strengthens our shareholder base, and preserves our operational independence," Reeves said in a statement.
The transaction, approved by the South African Competition Commission, ends a 12-year partnership with Comair. Despite now sharing a common shareholder in Parrot Aviation, CFS and FedAir will continue to operate as independent brands with separate leadership and operations. CFS retains its own air operator's certificate (AOC), with Reeves remaining as group chief executive officer.
CFS's charter fleet currently comprises a Learjet 45, two Learjet 45XRs, a Citation M2, a Beechjet 400XT, a Pilatus PC-24, two Beech (twin turboprop) King Air B200s, and twelve PC-12s.
In addition to charter services, CFS provides aircraft management and sales and runs a fixed-base operation (FBO) at Johannesburg Lanseria.
