TOLL Group, operator of Team Global Express (TFX) (formerly Toll Aviation), has signed a 15-year contract with the South Australian government to provide eight aircraft for policing, search and rescue, and aeromedical purposes. The group confirmed the contract via a March 5, 2025, press statement.
The Japan Post-owned logistics company will provide South Australian Police with two 429 Bell Helicopters and two fixed-wing aircraft, namely a PC-12 and a Cessna (single turboprop) 208EX. It will also provide the South Australia MedSTAR Ambulance Service with three AW139s and one PC-12. The latter aircraft will be sourced from the Royal Flying Doctor Service (South Australia and Northern Territory) and come equipped with an intensive care interior, rear patient-loading door, and built-in stretcher loading system.
The fixed wing aircraft will be introduced from November 2026 and the helicopters from October 2027.
In addition to the fleet, TOLL Group will partner with the Royal Flying Doctor Service to deliver specialised training for the South Australia Ambulance Service, the South Australia Police Service, and Gunggandji Aerospace through the Indigenous Defence and Infrastructure Consortium. This includes access to flight simulators, cabin trainers, extended reality crew procedural trainers, and advanced mission systems for surveillance, search and rescue, and medical transport.
