Vale (Brazil) (Rio de Janeiro International), one of the world's largest mining and logistics holdings, is selling its only corporate jet to cut costs. The newspaper O Globo reported that the company had bought a smaller Praetor 500 as a replacement but executives will now also travel on commercial airlines.

Global Express XRS PP-VDR (msn 9312) is a 16.5-year-old aircraft which has been operated by Vale since new. It is based out of Belo Horizonte Pampulha and has been used exclusively for corporate purposes as it is not certified for commercial charters. It was last active on February 15, 2025.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows that the company used to operate a much larger corporate jet fleet, totalling up to eight aircraft at the peak in 2012. It has since been gradually downsizing - the penultimate aircraft, an E190, was phased out in 2023. The identity of the new Praetor 500 acquired by the company is not yet known.

The company also owns one King Air B300 and five helicopters.
