Air TXT (Madrid Barajas) has commenced charter operations with a Citation Ultra it already managed. The operator told ch-aviation it was planning to add one or two more aircraft this year, and had its sights trained on narrowbody freighters going forward.
"Besides the development of executive aviation within the company, our goal is also the operation of freighters for the development and growth of our parent company, Trans X TAR," the airline said.
The Citation Ultra, EC-GOV (msn 560-0419), is a 27.4-year-old aircraft configured to seat up to eight passengers. The jet has featured the company's logo since at least January 12, 2023, operating using the registration callsign until December 9, 2024. The following day, it completed the first flight under the company's 'XTX' code, between Madrid Barajas and Corvera.
Air TXT plans to certify the aircraft for air ambulance operations in February 2025 and begin proferring such services in March 2025.
The operator confirmed to ch-aviation that the aircraft is owned by Trans X TAR, its major shareholder. The other shareholder of Air TXT is Sapphire Private Jets. Both companies are based in Madrid.
Going forward, Air TXT plans to add one or two more aircraft this year. It identified various airframes but is still evaluating various options.
In terms of its freighter plans, Air TXT is looking at both Airbus and Boeing types but has not yet made any firm decisions. "With executive jets, cargo flights are occasional and mainly for pharmaceutical clients who are already part of the TXT Group's customer base," the operator said.
The company secured its Spanish AOC in September 2024 and began operations on October 10, 2024.
