Grand Canyon Airlines (YR, Grand Canyon National Park) will begin operating scheduled passenger flights on January 6, 2025, with the launch of a new service between Safford and Phoenix Sky Harbor.
The service is enabled by grants through both the United States Department of Transportation’s Small Community Air Service Development Program (SCASDP) and the Freeport-McMoRan Community Investment Fund, the City of Safford said in a statement. The one-hour flight will connect with the Jackson Jet Center Fixed-Base Operator (FBO) in Phoenix.
According to the US Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Part 135 operators list, Grand Canyon Airlines operates a fleet of 17 aircraft, namely twelve DHC-6-300s and five Cessna Aircraft Company 208Bs.
ch-aviation has reached out to Grand Canyon Airlines for comment on the service. It was not immediately available.
The ch-aviation schedules module shows that the twice-daily route will be Safford’s only scheduled service. Grand Canyon Airlines also operates charter scenic flights from Las Vegas Harry Reid to Grand Canyon National Park, the Hoover Dam, and the Antelope Canyon, according to its website.
