Blue Islands (SI, Jersey) has entered into a wet-lease agreement with Greek ACMI specialist Marathon Airlines (O8, Athens) for one E175, ch-aviation research has revealed.

SX-ASK (msn 17000330) ferried from Athens to Jersey on June 8, 2024, ADS-B data shows, and was inducted into commercial service one day later. Marathon has said the ALEMB-o jet will connect the Channel isle to key UK destinations like Southampton, Nottingham, Birmingham, GB, Bristol International, Exeter, Norwich International, and Guernsey, as well as Dublin International in Ireland, and Rotterdam in the Netherlands.

The aircraft has a capacity for 88 passengers in a single-class configuration. It is a 12.71-year-old airframe that has been in the Greek carrier’s fleet since 2022. It previously operated for Alitalia CityLiner between 2011 and 2020.

The ch-aviation fleets module shows that Blue Islands’s fleet comprises five in-house aircraft, all ATR72-500s. Meanwhile, Marathon Airlines has three E170s, one E190, and three E195s.

ch-aviation understands the wet-lease will last until June 13, but could be extended beyond that.
