Aircraft management business Axis Aviation San Marino has acquired a San Marino air operator's certificate, its third AOC after Switzerland and Austria. Axis announced the news in a media statement published in mid-April.
"We selected the San Marino registry because it meets international standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency while offering a well-connected location in Central Europe," said Kerstin Mumenthaler, accountable manager at Axis Aviation.
According to ch-aviation fleets data, AXIS Aviation (BQA, Zurich) operates one Challenger 601-3A, one Falcon 2000S, one G650, and one Global 7500.
The company said it had already placed its first aircraft on the San Marino registry. The small European republic has become a popular destination for aircraft owners, lessors, financiers, and operators seeking aircraft registration and air operator certification. Axis says it offers clients aircraft asset management, aircraft reporting, and aircraft finance and transaction management services.
"We’ve identified a growing desire for increased options when it comes to charter, aircraft management, and other aviation-related services," said Axis Aviation Chairman Niall Olver. "By obtaining an AOC in San Marino, we can meet this demand effectively while also positioning ourselves for sustainable growth."
