Tanzanian regional specialist Regional Air Services (8N, Arusha) is set to add a maiden Dash 8-100 to its fleet towards the end of the year.

The likely source of the aircraft, parent carrier AirKenya (P2, Nairobi Wilson), said in a statement the Bombardier Aerospace turboprop would be used to run flights from the Serengeti to Zanzibar.

Regional Air Services currently operates a fleet of six Cessna (single turboprop) 208B Grand Caravans (of which three are leased from Airkenya while one is leased from Federal Airlines (South Africa) (7V, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo)) and one DHC-6-300 (also leased from Airkenya) on scheduled and charter flights between points in the Serengeti and each of Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar.
