Tailwind Air Service (PGN, Farmingdale) is a new American start-up looking to offer seaplane flights connecting Manhattan's IATA!QNY, with Boston, Bridgeport Igor Sikorsky Memorial and Washington Dulles later this summer.
While initial services to Boston and Washington, D.C. will use private terminals at their respective airports, Tailwind ultimately intends to land in the downtown waterfronts in both cities.
The start-up is aligned with Fly The Whale (New York Skyports SPB), an established seaplane and private charter operator known for its weekend shuttles to East Hampton Town and Nantucket. The two companies will utilize each other's aircraft which include Cessna (single turboprop) Caravan Seaplanes operated by business jet operator LIMA NY (Farmingdale).
