Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) announced that Brazil’s civil aviation authority (Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil - ANAC) had decided to lift an administrative sanction that restricted the carrier from adding new routes and frequencies from September 2025 onwards.
The airline said in a statement that the infractions were "purely documentary in nature", dated prior to 2023, and did not involve any issues related to operational safety or service provision.
In July 2025, ANAC prohibited Aerolíneas from opening routes to new destinations in Brazil or increasing the number of weekly frequencies from Brasília Juscelino Kubitschek International, Rio de Janeiro International, Salvador International, Curitiba International (airports that it currently serves), and Florianopolis (an airport it does not serve but is authorised to do so).
