The UK Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has cleared Boeing’s planned acquisition of Spirit AeroSystems without an in-depth investigation into whether the deal would be anti-competitive. CMA’s full decision is not yet available but will be published shortly. In 2024, Boeing agreed to buy back Spirit AeroSystems in a USD4.7 million all-stock deal aimed at improving quality control. In July 2025, Boeing also agreed to take over a portion of Spirit’s operations in Belfast City, which was broken up, with the other part of the business sold to Airbus.
