Wizz Air Malta (W4, Malta International) plans to open a base at Suceava with two A321-200Ns. The first aircraft will be stationed at the Romanian airport in December 2025 and the second will follow in January 2026.

The low-cost carrier intends to inaugurate eight new routes from Suceava, connecting it with Milan Bergamo, Venice Marco Polo, Bologna, Vienna, Brussels Charleroi, Larnaca, Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, and Birmingham, GB.

Wizz Air previously operated a base at Suceava but closed it in October 2023.

According to ch-aviation Commercial Aviation News, Operator & Airport Data, Wizz Air and its subsidiaries - Wizz Air Malta and Wizz Air UK - currently hold a 81.6% share of the airport's total available capacity. All up, they run services to five airports, Dortmund, London Luton, Memmingen, Milan Malpensa, and Rome Fiumicino.

Apart from Wizz Air, TAROM also offers scheduled passenger flights out of Suceava, operating a route to Bucharest Henri Coanda.
