Multiple foreign carriers suspended, once again, their flights to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion after a missile fired by Yemen's Houthi group impacted in the immediate vicinity of the airport on May 4, 2025.
Lufthansa Group said that all its airlines will pause services to Israel until at least May 11. United Airlines suspended flights to Tel Aviv until the same day, while Air France plans to restart flights to the city only on May 13. Wizz Air aims to return on May 8, Ryanair on May 7.
Among the other major foreign operators at the airport, Aegean Airlines and LOT Polish Airlines have suspended their flights to Tel Aviv but have not detailed the duration of the pause. All suspensions remain subject to adjustments based on the changing security situation.
Alongside Israeli carriers, flydubai continues to serve Tel Aviv with no changes to its schedule.
The Houthis, who control northern Yemen and are backed by Iran, have vowed to continue the "blockade" of Israel's main commercial airport and threatened further strikes.
Israel has heavily relied on domestic carriers for most of 2024 after foreign airlines suspended flights to Tel Aviv in the wake of the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack and the ensuing Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. International carriers began resuming flights to Israel in late 2024.
