Contour Airlines (LF, Tupelo) and Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale International) have announced a partnership to increase connectivity connecting Essential Air Service (EAS) cities with major leisure destinations, according to a press release.

While the routes have not been announced as yet, Spirit said it would introduce service to major leisure destinations from several of Contour’s EAS markets, expanding the use and reach of these airports.

"Our new partnership with Contour gives us an exciting opportunity to grow our network and explore low-cost entry into new markets that currently have limited service," said John Kirby, vice president of network planning at Spirit Airlines.

The ch-aviation schedules module shows Contour Airlines operates scheduled flights to 22 EAS and Alternative Essential Air Service (AEAS) cities: Altoona, Beckley, Cape Girardeau, Clarksburg, Fort Leonard Wood, Greenville, MS, Kirksville, Lewisburg Greenbrier Valley, Macon Regional, Manistee, Marion Williamson County Regional, Moab, Muscle Shoals, Owensboro, Paducah, Page, Plattsburgh International, Parkersburg, Show Low, Staunton, Tupelo, and Vernal.

The company connects these markets with major airports such as Nashville International, Charlotte International, Denver International, Dallas/Fort Worth, Washington Dulles, Chicago O'Hare, Phoenix Sky Harbor, and Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional.
