NovoAir (VQ, Dhaka) has suspended all flight operations as it continues to hunt for an investor and attempts to sell its aircraft for cash.
ch-aviation analysis of ADS-B data shows the airline's last flight before the suspension was on May 1, 2025, on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar and return route. It was operated by ATR72-500 S2-AJM (msn 687). NovoAir had five units of the type in total, of which two more were active until the end of April, one until February, and one has been parked at Dhaka airport since September 2022.
Unnamed representatives of the carrier confirmed to various local media outlets that flight operations had been paused, although they said it was only a temporary step. The carrier is reportedly also looking for an investor.
NovoAir put all five of its ATR72-500s on the market in June 2024 under a remarketing agreement with Airstream International Group. The five ATR - Avions de Transport Régional turboprops remain listed as available for sale by the remarketing company. At that time, the airline planned to transition from the turboprops to A321-200s. It later revised the plan to A320-200s but was unable to find aircraft on the tight market.
The airline did not respond to ch-aviation's request for comment.
