Lao Airlines (QV, Vientiane) has taken delivery of its first C909 on dry lease from CALC, becoming the second operator of the type outside mainland China.

RDPL-34229 (msn 10156) was handed over to the Laotian carrier on March 30, 2025. It is scheduled to ferry from Shanghai Pudong to Vientiane on March 31, 2025. Lao Airlines did not disclose when it will enter into revenue service.

The authorities in the landlocked country certified the regional jet on March 18, 2025.

Lao Airlines' C909 is configured for up to 90 passengers in a single-class layout.

The airline's fleet currently comprises four A320-200s, four ATR72-500s, three ATR72-600s, and one MA-60 wet-leased from Lao Skyway. The only other non-Chinese operator of the C909, formerly known as the ARJ21-700, is Indonesia's TransNusa.
