Royal Air Maroc (AT, Casablanca Mohammed V) is set to add 20 aircraft to its fleet by the end of 2026, the Moroccan digital newspaper Rue20 reported citing "official sources". The airline currently operates 56 aircraft, including those of its subsidiary Royal Air Maroc Express, and reportedly aims to expand its fleet to 73 by 2027.

Abdelhamid Addou, Royal Air Maroc's chief executive, recently mulled an order for 188 new jets as a comprehensive fleet renewal with an estimated USD25 billion budget, but the airline is yet to place such an order.

According to ch-aviation fleets data, Royal Air Maroc will add four more B737-8s dry-leased from Air Lease Corporation in 2025.

Meanwhile, the company resumed regular passenger services to China and Brazil after a five-year hiatus. The routes from Casablanca Mohammed V to Beijing Capital and São Paulo Guarulhos are operated using B787-9 aircraft, with 3x weekly frequencies. Royal Air Maroc is reportedly seeing satisfactory cargo figures on the Beijing route in particular, with the flights carrying around 30 tonnes of cargo each way.

The carrier's vice president of cargo, Yassine Berrada, said that the airline intends to position Casablanca as a hub for trade between Africa, Asia, and the Americas.

Royal Air Maroc has wet-leased two A330-200s from Hi Fly Malta and Iberojet (Spain). 9H-HFI (msn 805) and EC-LXA (msn 670) operated in Royal Air Maroc's network from February 23 to March 5 on flights between Moroccan airports and Madinah, carrying Umrah pilgrims.
