Delivery delays have scuttled plans for six additional A320s at Pelita Air (IP, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta) this year, with Commercial Director Asa Perkasa telling Jakarta's Bisnis news outlet that the carrier is now expecting four.

"The [first] aircraft will arrive at the end of June," he said. "The hope is that it can serve during school holidays. Three more will be delivered in the fourth quarter, so around October, November, December." He says the delivery cuts are due to "limited supply from manufacturers."

Ahead of the arrivals, Pelita Air presently operates twelve A320-200s alongside a single ARJ85 and four ATR - Avions de Transport Régional (EVX, Toulouse Blagnac) turboprops, the latter aircraft tasked to support the oil and resources operations of Pelita parent PT Pertamina. According to the ch-aviation PRO airlines module, Pelita Air operates scheduled flights to 13 Indonesian airports.

Perkasa said that despite receiving fewer aircraft than expected this year, Pelita Air remains optimistic about its planned expansion. He said the airline plans to increase its eastern flying, with new routes to Denpasar, Sorong Domine Eduard Osok, Praya Lombok International, and Kendari.

Pelita Air is also planning its first international flights to Singapore Changi.
