Arajet (DM, Santo Domingo Las Américas) has entered into a long-term lease with BOC Aviation for five incremental B737-8s that the lessor has purchased directly from Boeing.

The aircraft, powered by CFM International LEAP-1B engines, are scheduled to be delivered in 2026 and 2027, and will be incremental to Arajet’s existing orderbook. The airline currently operates ten B737-8s and has thirteen of the same type plus four B737-8-200s on order. Three of its active B737-8s are leased from BOC Aviation.

ch-aviation reached out to Arajet for comment on the news.

This year, Arajet expects to receive three B737 MAX jets, down from the original expectation of five, due to the ongoing delivery delays at the US planemaker.
