Wheels Up (WUP, Teterboro) has added the first five Phenom 300s and two Phenom 300Es, transferred from the Part 135 certificate of GrandView Aviation, ch-aviation research reveals. This follows the acquisition of GrandView Aviation's fleet of seventeen Phenom 300 and Phenom 300Es, part of a broader fleet modernisation strategy announced by Wheels Up in late 2024.
The first aircraft to operate under Wheels Up's 'WUP' code was Phenom 300 N324GV (msn 50500348), which flew between Elkhart Municipal and South Bend. On top of the ex-GrandView Aviation aircraft, the operator has also inducted N505BD (msn 50500300), a Phenom 300 previously operated privately.
Currently, Wheels Up's fleet of Embraer Executive Jets includes seven Phenom 300s and two Phenom 300Es. Seven additional Phenom 300s and three Phenom 300Es formerly operated by GrandView Aviation are pending addition to the Wheels Up's Part 135 fleet, though four of these are already operating under the 'WUP' code. Wheels Up previously operated a single Phenom 300 between 2018 and 2022.
As part of the fleet modernisation plan, Wheels Up's fleet of Citation XLS-family jets, Citation Jet-family aircraft, and Hawker 400XP jets will be replaced by Phenom 300-family aircraft. The company's Part 135 fleet currently includes nine Citation Excel, seven Citation XLS, eight Citation Jet 3s (with five other units phased out in January), a Citation Jet 3+ (with a second unit retired in January), twenty-one Hawker 400XPs, and a Hawker 400XT.
Additionally, Wheels Up’s charter fleet of twenty-seven Citation X is set to be replaced by Challenger 300s and Challenger 350s. The company's Part 135 certificate also includes two GIV-SPs and thirty-three King Air B300s.
