Rimbun Air (RI, Bandung) has leased its first ATR72-600 from Aircraft Finance Germany. In a February 17, 2025, statement, the lessor confirmed placing aircraft msn 1288 with the carrier.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, 9.3-year-old aircraft was last operating for Amelia (8R, Paris Le Bourget), registered as F-HGNU. ADS-B flight tracking data shows it ferried from St. Brieuc to Jakarta Halim via Al Ain and Hambantota over February 12-14. It was subsequently deregistered from France on February 18, but its new Indonesian registration is not yet known. The turboprop is configured to carry 72 passengers and is owned by AFG via its subsidiary, AFG Aviation Ireland.

Rimbun Air is primarily a cargo charter operator, with four B737-300(F)s and one B737-800(SF). It also operates a single passenger-configured DHC-6-400. It uses the Twin Otter for fly-in-fly-out mining charters, aeromedical flights, and surveillance flights. ch-aviation has contacted Rimbin Air for comment on the ATR and its plans for it.
