Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) will operate the first scheduled flight of its new A321-200(P2F) freighter fleet on February 15, 2025, the company announced.
The inaugural flights will serve domestic routes between Viracopos, Recife, and Manaus International, the airline’s logistics unit Azul Cargo Express said on social media.
The ch-aviation fleets module shows Azul Linhas Aéreas operates two A321-200(P2F)s, the first of which it took delivery of last October. Its cargo fleet also comprises one B737-400(F) and four E195s.
Once operational, Azul’s A321-200(P2F)s will be the first of their type in South America. There are currently 44 globally, with Express Freighters Australia (QE, Sydney Kingsford Smith) being the largest operator with six.
Separately, Azul Linhas Aéreas announced it expects to increase its fleet size further, with the arrival of eight more aircraft later this year. As a result, seat capacity is expected to grow by 15% in the last quarter of 2024, it said in a statement.
