Hunnu Air (MR, Ulaanbaatar) will dry lease two brand new E195-E2s from an undisclosed lessor, according to a January 28, 2025, statement from the carrier. The airline will take delivery of the aircraft from Embraer in April and October 2025, respectively.
Hunnu Air says it plans to use the aircraft to increase capacity to key tourist destinations, including Haikou and Sanya in China, and Phu Quoc in Viet Nam. The airline will also expand its services to cities in Japan, China, and South Korea, which it currently serves on a scheduled and charter basis. Additionally, it is planning to introduce scheduled flights to Tashkent International later this year.
According to the ch-aviation PRO airlines module, Hunnu Air currently flies to Almaty International, Beijing Daxing International, Manzhouli, and Ordos Ejin Horo from Ulaanbaatar with a fleet of two E190s and one ATR42-500. The lease will see the E195-E2 type placed on the Mongolian aircraft register for the first time.
ch-aviation flagged the likelihood of Hunnu Air acquiring the aircraft type late last year.
