LAM - Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (TM, Maputo) has issued a tender for the supply of E190 and B737-700 aircraft, according to an official acquisition tender notice by the airline on January 30. The numbers of aircraft were not specified.

Expressions of interest must be submitted by February 7 with full terms of reference available from the airline by email between February 4 and 6, the announcement reads.

The airline currently has one in-house aircraft, an DHC-8-Q400, in service. The rest of the in-house fleet is inactive, including one B737-700 and two more Q400s. LAM wet-leases two CRJ900s from South Africa's CemAir (5Z, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) and one B767-300ER from Portugal's euroAtlantic Airways (YU, Lisbon) for its Lisbon route.

A B737-300(F) was recently returned to lessor ACN AeroLeasing after the airline failed to certify the aircraft in Mozambique for more than a year.
