United Kingdom cargo operator One Air (HC, London Heathrow) has operated its first revenue flights between the UK and United States. B747-400(BDSF) G-ONEE (msn 24998) flew between Nottingham East Midlands and New York JFK on January 18, returning on the same day.
In a LinkedIn post, One Air called it "a smooth and successful operation from start to finish" and that it took 24 hours from the time of booking to land the cargo in New York.
One Air, which is linked to cargo charter broker AirOne Aviation Limited, only secured its air operator's certificate in 2023, launching with a single B747-400(BDSF), G-UNET (msn 25075). That aircraft now operates in tandem with G-ONEE. Within days of collecting its AOC, One Air applied for a US Foreign Air Carrier Permit. While that was later granted, it was another 20 months before the first US-bound flight departed.
One Air now also has a third freighter, B747-400ERF G-ONEF (msn 32870), which ferried to Victorville, in early January.
According to ADS-B flight tracking data, both of the BDSF freighters fly regularly from Nottingham East Midlands, Muscat, and Budapest to Hong Kong International. There are also regular, albeit less frequent, flights from Nottingham to Hangzhou. One Air received approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China last year to undertake cargo flights to certain Chinese airports.
