Tyrolean Jet & Service (TJS, Innsbruck) has confirmed a rumoured acquisition by Gama Aviation (GMA, Farnborough) will be completed "imminently". The Austrian operator will retain its current Air Operator's Certificate and brand as it is integrated into the holding.
"Our aim is to preserve the history and standards of Tyrolean Jet Services... With that in mind, we have absolutely no intention of discontinuing the Tyrolean Jet Services brand - quite the opposite," Gama Aviation's Managing Director Graham Williamson said.
The British group plans to use the Austrian operator as a model for its other boutique aircraft management and charter brands.
Tyrolean Jet Services currently operates seven aircraft on the Austrian register: one Citation Jet 1+, two Citation Jet 2s, one Citation XLS+, one Falcon 900EX, one Global 5000, and one Phenom 300E. The company was previously owned by the Swarovski family, the owners of the renowned jewellery brand. It is currently owned by investment firm R. Schwarz Holding.
Gama Aviation currently holds AOCs in the UK, the UAE, the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, and the Isle of Man. It also took over Tyrolean Jet & Service's Maltese certificate, TJS Malta.
