Overland Airways (OF, Lagos) has commenced commercial flight operations with its first E175, 5N-CCM (msn 17000938), according to ADS-B flight data.
The newbuild 88-seater Embraer jet made its first commercial flight on March 14, the carrier announced on social media, serving Lagos, Ilorin, Abuja, Akure, and Gombe.
5N-CCM was delivered to Overland Airways in September last year, marking a strategic shift from its predominantly turboprop fleet. Two more of the type will be delivered on undisclosed dates.
As ch-aviation previously reported, the addition of the Embraer units are part of the airline's expansion plans to boost its domestic and regional capacity.
Overland Airways operates scheduled and charter services with a fleet of ATR - Avions de Transport Régional aircraft, including an ATR42-300(QC), three ATR42-320s, and one ATR72-200, as well as one E145 wet-leased from the Bauchi State Government, the ch-aviation fleets module reveals.
