SCAT Airlines (DV, Shymkent) has ordered seven more B737-8s from Boeing (BOE, Washington National). The US manufacturer said in an announcement made during the Dubai Airshow 2023 that this commitment was previously attributed to an undisclosed customer. No delivery dates were given.
"Replenishing the fleet with seven more Boeing 737-8s will increase the airline's carrying capacity," Vladimir Denissov, president of JSC SCAT Airlines, said. "It will also positively affect the timely execution of flight schedules. The company will get an opportunity to expand its route network and offer passengers even more travel destinations."
The privately-owned Kazakh carrier already operates three B737-8s as well as five B737-9s alongside five B737-300s, three B737-500s, one B737-700, eight B737-800s, and seven CRJ200s. It also runs four B757-200s (currently parked) and one B767-300ER for its leisure-focused Sunday Airlines brand, ch-aviation fleets data shows.
Based in Shimkent, SCAT serves an extensive network of domestic and international destinations in the Commonwealth of Independent States and Central Asia.
