Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, São Paulo Viracopos) has placed an order with ATR - Avions de Transport Régional for three ATR72-600s with options for two more during the 2023 Paris Air Show.
Neither the airline nor the manufacturer offered any additional colour regarding delivery timelines. The aircraft will join Azul's existing fleet of forty ATR72-600s. The carrier already had another three units on firm order from the manufacturer. It is the second-largest operator of the type globally, trailing only Wings Air (Indonesia) (IW, Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta), according to the ch-aviation fleets module.
The Italo-French manufacturer also disclosed that three unidentified customers ordered eight ATR72-600s in total, while two customers purchased three ATR42-600s.
