Safe Air (K3, Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta) has neither confirmed nor denied social media chatter that an ex-AeroStan B727-200(F) that arrived at Nairobi Jomo Kenyatta last week, will be joining its fleet.
A spokesman for the Kenyan carrier informed ch-aviation the aircraft - EX-27011 (msn 21580) - was "not yet" but "maybe" joining Safe Air. "It's neither here nor there," he said. "Will confirm once done."
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the 44.26-year-old freighter was operated by the Kyrgyzstani carrier between November 2020 and October 2022, and had since been stored at Bishkek. It is owned by UAE-based Air Speed Charter.
Safe Air already operates two B727-200 (F)s and one B727-200, ch-aviation fleets data reveals.
